Start learning

Our learning environment is open to anyone with the motivation to learn, make, and contribute.

From first steps to skilled practice

Learn to last is designed for people who care about movement, making, and meaningful work. Whether you're just starting out or already active in the field, our education offers a way in, and a way forward.

Our courses in 2026

The team of Learn to last is working hard preparing the courses for you. Even though the courses are not yet finalized, you can already register and start as soon as they go live.

We have seen that there is already sufficient education worldwide in anatomy, pathology, and gait analysis, so this is not our primary focus. We do integrate the essential basics of these fields - the anatomical terms, directions, and movements needed to communicate clearly - but our mission is rooted in preserving and teaching the craft itself: the making skills that risk being lost.

We work at the intersection of education
, social responsibility, and global collaboration. Our platform is multilingual, modular, and tailored to practical realities, created with experts, for future experts.

We don’t just teach techniques, we share stories, transfer proven skills, and build lasting value.

We keep the craft alive, and make it future-ready.

Shape the future of Learn to Last

As the year progresses, we will continue to develop new courses. For Learn to Last, it is important that every course connects with the needs of the field and focuses on practical skills in orthopedic shoemaking. That’s why we invite you to let us know what are your top 6 favorite course topic from the list.

By sharing your input, you help us design training that is relevant, hands-on, and future-ready.

Modular, multilingual learning for makers, students and professionals around the world

Our digital learning environment is designed for flexibility, clarity, and practical relevance. We are building a set of digital modules that cover both the foundations and the finer details of orthopedic shoe technology, from basic anatomy and shoemaking techniques to design, finishing, and fitting.

Each module will be available in multiple languages and combines video, visual tools, and expert guidance. Learners can access the content at their own pace, from anywhere in the world.

We also offer live workshops, feedback sessions, and a growing Q&A database where learners can ask questions and get answers directly from experienced professionals.

This way, we’re creating a future-proof learning system that works across borders, backgrounds, and bandwidths.

Our courses are suitable for:

Young learners who are curious about craft, health, or technology but don’t know this field exists.
Career changers who want to work with their hands, make a difference, and learn something concrete.
Makers in low-income countries who don’t have access to formal training due to distance, language, or costs.
Professionals in healthcare, footwear, or rehabilitation who want to understand how shoes can support mobility.

Language levels and accessibility

We believe language should never be a barrier to learning. That’s why every lesson comes with a clear indication of the language used and the level required to follow it.
  • Level 1: Highly visual and demonstrative. You can participate with minimal language skills.
  • Level 2: Basic understanding of the spoken or written language is needed.
  • Level 3: Comfortable language use required. Includes explanations and terminology.
  • Level 4: Includes medical and technical language.
At the start, our courses will be available in English, Spanish and Dutch. We will soon expand to more languages. When you register for live classes, please indicate your preferred language.

Most lessons are spoken in Dutch, with occasional parts in English, German or Spanish. Subtitles are always available in English, Spanish and Dutch. You can pause or replay lessons anytime, so you can learn at your own pace. The visual demonstrations make the content easy to follow, even if the language feels challenging.

The main courses are taught at Level 4, including medical and technical language.

Live course: Get started with the basic terminology

To help you get started, we also offer three short live courses via Zoom that cover the basic terminology:
  • Foot bones
  • Directions
  • Movements
These can be taken at Level 1, 2 or 3. Each session lasts about one hour and is taught in very small groups of maximum 3 participants, always on the same level. If you are already at Level 3 and mainly want to refresh the terms, we can combine directions and movements into one lesson instead of two. If you are unsure which option fits you best, just send us an email.
